Pushkin City Library got shortlisted for the Russian Libraries Book of Records

In the Year of Culture and the Olympic Games “Modern Library” magazine contributors created the Russian Libraries Book of Records.  Pushkin City Library was nominated in a “Unique Library” category as Yuriatin Atheneum.

Yuriatin Atheneum – is a Perm Public Library, depicted in Pasternak’s widely acknowledged novel “Doctor Zhivago”. Yuriatin athenaeum is a place where Yuri Zhavago meets Lara. Modern Pushkin Library planning and interiors replicate those in the novel.

Starting 2005, events, marked with Yuriatin Atheneum brand, have been visited by more than 3,5 thousand people.

“City Libraries Union” notes that any library can claim to be nominated for the book. The first step for getting nominated is to sign up for the contest in a “Modern Library” blog in a section of “Russian Libraries Book of Records”.
